Claude Fauchere RED MARKET 2 The first time I saw CLAUDE FAUCHERE's serigraphs was in a high priced local gallery here in <>Atlanta. I was immediately struck by the bright colors, the wonderful shape of the oranges, onions, and other fruits and vegetables in their crates, and the way he made an everyday french market scene come alive and command attention. <> This piece, which shows a market scene that is perhaps in a French village is very representative of the work for which Fauchere has become famous. It is true to his impressionistic style, offering bright color contrasted with soft blues and grays. The detail in the architecture and crates of fruit & vegetables are common in Fauchere's many wonderful works depicting open air markets. This is a serigraph on heavy artist's paper, approximately 12" x 12.25". It is HAND SIGNED AND NUMBERED BY FAUCHERE. About the artist: Born in Paris in 1936. This artist has the distinction of graduating from both the College des Arts Appliqus and the cole Suprieure Nationale des Maitres des Arts. Fauchre has won a number of awards including the Gold and Silver Medals of French Artists, the Medal of the General Counsel of Seine-Saint-Denis and the Medal of the City of Paris.
